Experience

I have been a counsellor since 2005 and have experience of working with individuals on a wide range of issues. I work in a variety of settings: in private practice, in a voluntary-sector mental health agency and for Employee Assistance Companies (EAPs). I also have a number of years experience working with a centre for women who have been abused or raped.

I have undertaken a wide range of continuing professional development since qualifying, and I continue to take up new opportunities to develop my practice.

I have a particular interest in the areas of trauma and complex trauma, abuse (sexual, physical and emotional), and dissociation, and I have written and delivered training on self-harm.

I am trained and practice as a supervisor. I work with supervisees, both qualified and in training, from a variety of approaches.

I hold an up-to-date Protecting Vulnerable Groups/Disclosure Scotland certificate, and am fully insured.
